Some more random info behind these recordings...

 

The paintings used for cover art on Concede, Without Hesitation, Ghoststories & Lies, and Summer Salt, are all original oil paintings by Ben Roberts.

Concede was tracked and mixed in 55 total hours. That sounds like a long time, but ask around, it's not. That's actually quite fast for a 12 song album.

Cecelia the Poet was written for and dedicated to Joshua's mother.

Tennessee was written about a girl Joshua Roberts had never met.

Without Hesitation is a collection of recordings compiled after Willis Brownstone stopped touring. There was too much un-released material to let go to waste, so it was released on this album.

All 18 songs on Without Hesitation were recorded 100% live. No overdubs.

Summer Salt is the only "real" studio album ever released by Willis Brownstone. Many of the songs were written in the studio and not perfromed live until after the album had been released.

Eliishe was written about Caleb Jones' son, Eli. "Eli Is He" whom the song is about.

Ghoststories & Lies was a project led by Ryan Patrick where he wanted to record his new material, but not wanting the too-familiar Willis Brownstone sound. The album does however include Caleb Jones on bass guitar.

Tonus Diabolicus by Signalflow was an experimental recording project started by Casey Pittman, that includes Jeremy Bryant on drums and Caleb Jones on bass. There are many guest musicians on that album including Joshua Roberts playing lead guitar on Upside.

Wheatstain was written by Casey Pittman about an ill-fated trip to Kansas during one of Willis Brownstone tours, where all members (including Casey) were almost arrested, and one member was banned from the state of Kansas for life.
